Reading the search results page
Title
Title of the collection, series, folder, or item.
Type
Under the title, it will indicate if it's describing a Collection, Series, File, or Item. In the example above, it is describing a File, meaning folder.
Identifier
For archival object records, the identifier field may indicate the Box #, Folder #, or Item # where the record is found. In the example above, the folder titles "Phi Kappa Psi., 1912-05-17" is located in Record Group 11, Sub-Group 10, Series 01.
Scope and Contents
This will give a brief description of the collection, series, folder, or item.
Dates
The date, or range of dates, of when the material originated.
Found in
These are also known as the "breadcrumbs". It explains where the record falls in relationship to other collections.
