Suggested search strategies:

While many search engines allow for natural language searching, most Library catalogs and databases work best by using connectors (boolean operators) that help include or exclude keywords.

AND - used to include keywords
OR - used to alternate keywords
NOT - used to exclude keywords

bears AND honey
(bears OR anteaters) AND honey
(bears OR anteaters) AND honey NOT ants

E-Journal Portal and Journals List will ONLY display journal holdings, not journal ARTICLES. Choose subject databases at Research Resources to verify citations and find book & journal ARTICLE content.

E-Journal Portal (comprehensive online ONLY holdings)

Journals List (print and/or online holdings)

Any part of Title

E-Journal Browse (browse online ONLY holdings by subject)

Suggested search strategies:

  • Enter journal title to determine if the Library owns print or online access to journals. If you know the exact name of the journal title, start your search with "==" (ex: ==Nature).
  • Check BOTH E-Journal Portal & Journals List to be sure the Library has no holdings before proceeding with Interlibrary Loan.
  • Older "Print" journals can be found on the Ground Level of SFL or 2nd Level of MLS. MICROFORMS can be found on the First Level of SFL.
  • As always, if you are having trouble finding what you need, just ASK US!
