The map collection consists of engraved or lithographic maps of Europe, Africa and North America published mainly in the 18th and 19th centuries. Many of these maps have unfortunately been removed from period publications for their colorful, detailed plates. Nevertheless, they provide valuable historical information and a glimpse into how past peoples viewed their own world. The collection contains not only geographical maps but those that are genealogical, chronological, military, celestial, geopolitical and meteorological in perspective.
Additional maps and atlases, located in special collections, that are not listed here may be found through the library catalog. Please note: As we are a college research library, items in our collection are NOT for sale.
