Poster presentation at the 2024 AAC&U Diversity, Equity, and Student Success Conference, Philadelphia, PA

The College Library as an Affordability Partner

  • Continue gathering, analyzing, and sharing data through the College Library’s Syllabus Review Project

  • Identify affordability champions among our faculty and partner with them to encourage their colleagues to adopt similar cost-conscious practices

  • Continue actively encouraging and supporting faculty in adopting Open Education Resources

  • Identify courses that may disproportionately raise materials costs for first-year students as a focus for affordability advocacy and partnership

  • Revise library collection development practices to more readily support the integration of library materials into courses

  • F&M faculty and College Library employees are united by a shared concern for materials affordability: an opportunity to expand the College Library’s role as an affordability partner!
