Search statement strategies for searching in all library databases:
Use an * to search for multiple forms of a word in a single search:
border* = will search for: border, borders, bordering, borderland(s)
statistic* = will search for: statistic, statistics, statistical, statistically
chronolog* = will search for: chronology, chronological, chronologically
Use "quotation marks" to have multiple words searched together as a phrase:
"agua prieta"
"new mexico"
"border crossing"
Use the word AND (in capital letters) to combine different topics/concepts:
texas AND mexic* AND border*
arizona AND mexic* AND border*
california AND mexic* AND border*
"new mexico" AND mexic* AND border*
"agua prieta" AND mexico
douglas AND arizona AND mexico
"agua prieta" AND douglas
