Swank Digital Campus

Swank has unique content not found in our other streaming film databases. With Swank, you can find feature films produced in Hollywood that are often only available to individuals on platforms such as Hulu, HBO, Netflix or Amazon Prime. In our pilot year, we have the funds to license about 80 films. For faculty that place feature films on DVD on reserve for students to view in the library, this may be a great option. See below for more information.

This link will take you to F&Ms Digital Campus where you will find licensed films ready for viewing.

This link will take you to Swank's entire catalog. Click on the "Browse Entertainment" menu at the top and select an audience when prompted to view content.

Due to copyright restrictions, Swank films do not include Public Performance Rights and clips cannot be created. Links to films can be embedded into Canvas but must be watched on the Swank site. For viewing on a mobile device, you will be prompted to install the app. Safari is not supported.

Finding & Viewing Films

For students: Students may view any licensed films at any time on the F&M Swank site. Students do not have access to the request feature in the portal. Due to licensing restrictions, Swank films must be requested by faculty or professional staff for classroom and/or coursework use.

For faculty and professional staff: Faculty and professional staff may watch any licensed films at any time and also retrieve direct and CMS links for sharing without registering on the site. Faculty and professional staff who wish to have access to the full Swank catalog and the ability to request films, must register for an account. Please follow the directions below.

Self-Registration

1. From your campus log in page, click the Register as Instructor link. If you do not have the URL, please contact your librarian.

2. Complete the registration fields. For the email address, we recommend using your school email address so that the librarians or other Digital Campus Administrators recognize you and know how to reach you with any questions. Click the Register button.

3. Locate the email that was sent to the address you entered. Click on the verification link.

4. With the link verified, you will have immediate access to the Content Portal and all of the licensed and unlicensed content, which is available through online requests. If you have multiple requests at one time, simply add them to the "queue" and send the recommendations all at once.

You'll only be asked to verify your account once a year. If you forget your password, click the Forgot Password? link on the login page.

Why Mediated?

Swank is a mediated streaming film platform. While faculty can (and are encouraged!) to request films, these requests first go to the library for approval. Please provide as much information as you can about why the film is needed. Since many Swank films are attractive for leisure viewing, it is important to note the educational value of the film for your students within the context of your class. You will be notified directly by Swank when the film has been licensed. Turnaround time is fairly quick during normal business hours; however, we recommend requesting films well in advance of the date needed.
