• Start at the F&M College Library web site: library.fandm.edu
• Click on Advanced Search
   

Sample search statement for broad topic exploration:

Search Index Keyword:  reading AND (fiction OR literature)

AND

Search Index Subject: 18th OR eighteenth
 

Sample search statement for works about an author

Search Index Subject: murray, judith sargent
 

• Under the Search Tools, select Source Type: Book
• Search!
• Sort: Best Match
   

Now, assess your results.  If you would like to see what is available beyond F&M:

• Filter/refine your search by: Library: Libraries Worldwide
• Select the Source type: Print book--because we can borrow whole print books (but not whole ebooks) from other libraries.
• You can request the F&M library borrow a print copy of a book from another library via EZ-Borrow or Interlibrary Loan!
   

To discover chapters in print and ebooks available beyond F&M:

• On the results page with the Library Location: Libraries Worldwide
• Select the Source type: Print Book and eBook--because we can request chapters of books and ebooks via Interlibrary Loan!

If you find a print book in DISCOVER to which we do not have immediate access, click on the button in DISCOVER to request the book from another library.

Use EZBorrow (EZB)/Interlibrary Loan (ILL) to request articles, book chapters, books, and other materials not available at F&M.
