Search Discover to find books and ebooks @ F&M:  

To perform a general, exploratory search in Discover:

• Start at the F&M College Library web site: library.fandm.edu
• Click on the BOOKS tab.
• Suggested search language for elements of your topics:
   
  • Group 1:  (9/11 OR "september 11")
  • Group 2:  ("african american" OR black) AND "islamic law"
  • Group 3:  "united states" AND post AND (9/11 OR "september 11")
  • Group 4:  "hip hop"
  • Group 5:  "united states" AND (twentieth OR 20th)
  • Note: if you want to search for information on Canada, use this:  canad*
     
• Search!
• Click on the title of the book to then view the full description.

To discover PRINT books available BEYOND F&M:

• Follow the search steps above, then:

• In the left frame:
  • Under Library Location: Select: Libraries Worldwide
  • Under Source Type: Select: Print Book (We are unable to borrow ebooks.)

• ​Click on the title of the book to then view the full description.

• For print books not available at F&M but of interest to you:
  • ​After viewing the  description:
    • ​Scroll down to Check Availability
    • Search EZ BORROW to determine if you could borrow the book from
      a nearby library.
      • If the book is not available via EZ Borrow, use the Interlibrary Loan
        (or "ILL") service, which is worldwide.

To request print books to which we do not have immediate access, use E-ZBorrow 

To request articles or books/book chapters or other materials not available at F&M, use Interlibrary Loan/ILL
