New look for library website

In response to the revised college webpages, the library website has had a bit of a make-over. Most changes are aesthetic. There are a few functional changes:
  • the Staff link is now on the homepage
  • Class Guides have been split into 2 listings for easier searching, and
  • Ask Andy!

Why not Ask Andy?

Have you ever wanted to ask a librarian a research question in the middle of the night? Well, now you can. Andy will respond to your questions within 24 hours, if not sooner.

Ask Andy anything. Unlike Ask Jeeves or Questia, your question will be answered by a human, and for free!

Preference will be given to questions asked by members of the campus community.

Spring-time book suggestions

The way of all flesh: the romance of ruins.
Dekkers, Midas
American ed. New York: Farrar, Straus and Giroux
LOCATION: Main Library -- Browsing Room -- CALL NUMBER: QH529 .D4513 2000

Comments: In this fascinating and witty book about the inevitable ruin of everything from human bodies to works of art, Dekkers argues that things are most beautiful when they deteriorate--especially when they are given the chance to do so naturally.

The landscaping revolution: garden with mother nature, not against her.
Wasowski, Andy
Lincolnwood, Ill.: Contemporary Books
LOCATION: Main Library -- Browsing Room -- CALL NUMBER: SB439 .W367 2000

Comments: Tired of mowing? Concerned about wasting water? Nervous about toxic lawn chemicals? This book is a call to arms for a "grassroots" movement to landscape our properties naturally. The author's sense of humor is obvious with chapter titles like "My Lawn has a Drinking Problem" and Who's Afraid of Virginia Creeper?" If your lawn has become a pain in the grass, this is just the book for you!
