Visual Resources in Scholars SquareSeveral visual resources collections are represented in Scholars Square, Franklin & Marshall's institutional repository featuring the intellectual and creative output of the college. ARTstorARTstor is a non-profit initiative, founded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, with a mission to use digital technology to enhance scholarship, teaching, and learning in the arts and associated fields. ARTstor's subscription-only image library includes approximately 700,000 images, and its software tools support a wide range of pedagogical and research uses including: viewing and analyzing images through features such as zooming and panning, saving groups of images online for personal or shared uses, and creating and delivering presentations both online and offline. Access is restricted to members of the Franklin & Marshall community.
Slide LibraryFranklin & Marshall's Slide Library, housed in the Department of Art and Art History, is a teaching collection of more than 100,000 35mm slides. Holdings represent world art, architecture, decorative art, and material culture, prehistory to contemporary. The collection is a rich teaching resource available to all College faculty for use in F&M classroom lectures. Please contact Susan Walker (see below) for borrowing information.A portion of the collection's holdings is represented in a Searchable Online Catalog, which serves as a finding aid for the slides as well as an archive of the collection.
