F&M Library: 2010 Senior Spotlight
The work required to keep the F&M Library running smoothly and open for business, by necessity,
includes a lot of hours of student assistant help. Our Senior Spotlight features this year's
seniors who have worked with us for at least 2 years. As thanks for all their great work,
periodically throughout the year we will shed a bit of light on each of them!
As you visit the Martin Library of the Sciences and Shadek-Fackenthal Library, remember that
ALL of our friendly and helpful student assistants are there to assist you.

1. What's your hometown and major?
I'm from the suburbs of Philadelphia, but a fun fact is that I was born in St. Louis Missouri. My major is biology.
2. Where do you work in the Library, and as student, what's your favorite thing about the Library?
I work at the circulation desk in Shad-Fack, and I will have worked there 2 years when I graduate at the end of this year. My favorite thing about the library is the new books section. I love to read fiction books, and many interesting new books are coming out all the time. It's easy to find a fun book to read when you're sick of studying or writing a paper. And don't hesitate to come to the circulation desk to ask a question. The student workers and librarians are quite knowledgeable and can usually answer your question, from the mundane to the complicated.
3. One thing most people don't know about me.
One day I hope to be a genetic counselor and work with people. I like research biology, but I would much rather help people with the worst times in their lives (cancer diagnoses) or the best times (having a baby) by helping them understand what is really happening with their bodies and how they can take an active role to feel more comfortable with their decisions.

1. What's your hometown and major?
I am from the bustling metropolis of Slatington, Pennsylvania. I am a Neuroscience and Creative Writing double major.
2. Where do you work in the Library, and as student, what's your favorite thing about the Library?
I have worked in the Circulation Department at Shad-Fack since the fall of 2006. I sit at the front desk, process EZ-Borrow books, shelve trucks, and put covers on new Browsing Room books. My favorite thing about the library is that you never know who you'll see there. So many different people come in and out of the library. While sitting at the front desk, I've had some very interesting conversations and encounters -- from Seminary students, to professors, to others at F&M and the surrounding community. During breaks from studying, I also like to walk through the rest of the library to see who is there -- a lot of times people don't realize the social aspects of going to the library.
3. One thing most people don't know about me.
Someday, I hope to hike the Appalachian Trail completely from start to finish. Additionally, in the privacy of my own home, and sometimes on youtube, I am known to bust a good rhyme or two.
