Library Book Purchase Grants for Adjunct and Visting FacultyAdjunct and Visiting Faculty are invited to apply for Library Book Purchase Grants. The intention of these grants is to assist us in strengthening the Library collection. If you have knowledge in a particular area in which you believe the Library collection is weak and in which the College has continuing interest, please contact Tom Karel, Collection Development Librarian (by e-mail, in person, by note, or by phone), before October 31. After an initial discussion of the project, you should submit an application in writing to me. The application should include a definition of the area and its scope and an assessment of the Library's current holdings in the area. The grants will be for $500. Book selection is to be done in accordance with the Library's Collection Development Policy. Books selected for purchase should be of a level to allow their use by students at this college. Orders should be submitted on regular library book order forms. When ordering on this grant, write the word "Grant" in the "Dept." space of the order form. All Library grants must be committed by March 31. Receipt of this grant should not decrease your access to the regular allocation for your department. |
