CRA (Catastrophic Relief Alliance)

Policies
The mission of the CRA states that this is an organization
which is involved in the planning of and participation in multiple-day relief
opportunities to areas that have been affected by natural disasters or housing
distress. Due to the nature of this organization it takes months of planning in
order to organize these trips. The costs can also become substantial as these
locations may require multiple modes of transportation and/or building
supplies. The majority of funding comes from donations and fundraising efforts,
as well as contributions from volunteer participants. Participation costs will
be determined prior to each relief opportunity.
Participants are expected to abide by the following
policies.
- Each
participating member will be required to pay a commitment fee. The amount
of this fee will be determined based on the total cost of the trip and the
amount of money that is fundraised. Failure to raise necessary funds may
result in higher participant fees, or cancellation of trip.
- The
commitment fee, and any deposits should be paid by the designated date.
The commitment fee is non-refundable (unless the trip is cancelled). Any
deposits are refundable, as long as deposit requirements are met.
- If the
participant cancels less than two weeks before the start of the trip, the
individual will be responsible for paying the FULL cost of their
participation in the trip. These costs would include any transportation,
lodging and food.
- Students
and faculty & staff affiliated with F&M will all be required to
pay the same fee.
- Any
participants that take part in the trip that are not affiliated with
F&M will be required to pay the full price of transportation and other
costs unless specifically approved by the CRA officers otherwise.
- The
CRA officers will be responsible for initial planning efforts but once the
final group participants have paid their contribution to commit to the
trip, EVERY member will be required to take an active role in the planning
and fundraising efforts.
- The
CRA officers have the authority to change and/or modify these policies as
necessary.
I have read & understand the policies, as they pertain
to the following relief opportunity.
