Musicians (and a librarian) converged on Madison from all over; Wisconsin, Minnesota,
California, Missouri, Texas and Pennsylvania - for the second week of the BDDS festival.
The librarian did his best to behave, but did sneak a few pictures of the week's events.
Choose any of the thumbs below for slightly bigger pics.

"Czechs in the Mail" made its debut at the Meriter retirement home; catch my (Megan -
viola) bow if you can; Amy Jo (horn) and Doris (clarinet) have starring roles in the
Janacek; Parry is quite expressive on cello.

The weather was fantastic the entire week, allowing for many leisurely hours outside
Edenfred; Steph (flute) always takes a great picture... even if she wanted to kill the
photographer; Leslie (violin) and Stephanie (violin).

Megan couldn't escape this time; Jan (lovely host) relaxes, until called to duty by
Jeffrey Sucker-For-a-Scalp-Message Sykes (piano); David (concierge and cook extraordinaire)
wows the troops with his creations.

Lilly (assistant executive director) just prior to shoving an entire muffin in her mouth;
you wouldn't know it from their stoic looks, but BDDS founders were extreme partiers;
Steph dazzles on Dvorak (movie); Doris jams on Janacek (movie).

Jeffrey is a star on the triangle, playing an early Dvorak; Schulhoff was so energetic!
(movie); some Fibich at Stoughton; the sushi at the Muramoto was fantasitic, but I
(librarian) couldn't get into the sake. Was the sample Junmai then Ginjo then Daiginjo...
or the other way around?

Samantha (exec director) sets the stage for another fantastic Music Hall concert; John Novak
(musicologist) left no woodland creature behind when discussing Janacek's Concerto;
Jeffrey and Steph hand out Czech-inspired goodies at half-time (I really wanted to win
a Chekov action figure... you know, from Star Trek); more Fibich at Music Hall; Fibich -
the Movie (can't wait for the sequel..... "Son of a Fibich").

Prints produced by Czech artists, set designed by David Wells, served as the backdrop at
Music Hall; Ah, the Cafe Continental... leave all your cares, and yield to the unlenting
photographer! Doris, Jeffrey and David; Megan and Amy Jo; and then there's JACK (center,
Steph's dad).

Norton (Snorty Norty for short) is the very pleasant and quite headstrong son of the
horn-player Amy Jo. Norty had more girlfriends than he could stand, and could be kept
content with a fistful of Cheerios; Norty get jiggy (movie); Andy (yes, the
librarian) minds the young Norty at Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin.

Stephanie practices out on Frank's front yard; BDDS supporter Mr. Bauman and audience take
in the Taliesin evening show; did you say you wanted even more Fibich? (movie).

Back at Edenfred, Tony (cello) joins the gang after the closing concert; Bottoms Up! Andy
steals Leslie's camera for this cameo; David and Doris mind the bar; one last Norty!
