Camp near Poolesville[?]

Telegraph Station

Maj. Gen. Stahel,

I wish you to keep advised of the movements of the column under Col. DeForrest and the brigade with himself[?].  Keep up communication with him and advise me of all information gained of the enemy’s movements or position.  The 3d Corps move by Mouth of Monocacy, Point of Rocks, Peterville, & Brikeadsville[?]; the 1st Corps by way Barnesville, Adamstown, & Jefferson.  I wish your cavalry to scout on their front & assess[?] their march, giving then all necessary information of any form of the enemy in their front.

Gen. Hooker telegraphs he will be at Poolesville by 9 o’clock tomorrow morning.  Gen. Doubleday commands the 1st Corps; Gen. Birney the 3d & Gen. Howard the 11th.

Yours truly, &c.

John F. Reynolds,

Maj. Gen., Vols.
