                  I send you following order:

 

Head Quarters, Army of Pennsylvania

Harrisburg, Sept. 14th 1862

General Orders, No. 1:

         First.  In pursuance of orders from War Department and His Excellency Governor Curtin, the undersigned assumes command of the forces assembled for the defense of Pennsylvania.

         Second.  The following named officers are announced as the staff of the General commanding and will be obeyed and respected accordingly:

Captain C. Kingsbury, Jr., Asst. Adjt. Genl.

Captain Edward McPherson, Volunteer Aid-de-Camp

Lieut. C.R. Lamborn, Aid-de-Camp
